The different types of roller skate boots There are different types of boots, depending on how you skate and what your personal preference is.
These boots bring your balance slightly forward and reach past your ankle , giving your ankles more support. They're perfect for recreational skating , roller dance and the skate park . The stiffer the boot, the more support it gives.
Low boots with a small heel or none at allThese boots are ideal for speed skaters and roller derby . They make you bend your knees more, so you stay nice and low. The material of your boots For both the outside and the soles of your boots, you can choose between different materials. They all have their own advantages and their impact on comfort, durability and control – in short, on how your skates feel. Sometimes it's a matter of weighing up what matters most to you. Soles are made of rubber, leather or plastic, with or without an extra fibre for reinforcement.
Boots made from soft materials with lots of padding on the inside are very comfortable, but generally don't last as long. Leather has a break-in period in which it moulds to your foot, but boots in this sturdy material last considerably longer.
