    Buy Roller skates for kids

Roller skates for kids are the ideal way for the youngest to work on their balance and coordination while playing. Inline skates offer speed, but quad roller skates are stable and easy to stand on once your laces are tied. Moreover, thanks to our customisable roller skates, children do not grow out of their new skates immediately.

Are you addicted to roller skating yourself and want your (grand)child to share in the fun? Or has your offspring been nagging you for months because they want to learn how to skate? At Sucker Punch Skate Shop, you'll find the best selection of roller skates for kids. Browse the selection above, choose the perfect pair and easily order online. Or ask us your question and we'll be happy to help.

Junior roller skates in all sizes

For novice roller skaters, it is even more important that their shoes fit their feet perfectly. After all, that is the only way the roller skate will fit them comfortably and safely. At the same time, that right fit poses a big challenge with feet that grow quickly.

That is why Sucker Punch Skate Shop has a wide range of adjustable children's roller skates. Their range is usually about 4 shoe sizes. So you can easily adjust them to fit growing children's feet. Always make sure you start at the bottom of the range, though. That way your sprouts will enjoy their gift the longest.

Another option are fixed, non-adjustable junior roller skates. In that case, make sure you get one size bigger than your current size, as children grow quickly. Use an extra sole or thick socks to fill the empty space a bit. But always make sure their foot stays nice and tight in the back of the roller skate.

Buying the perfect roller skates for children

Roller skates for children are always made of plastic. The inside is soft and comfortable. They therefore do not last as long as many adult models, but are very comfortable. When choosing your new roller skates, keep the same things in mind as when considering buying roller skates:

    • Shoes: it is best to choose high shoes with a heel, which offer more stability.
    • Brakes: fixed “toe stops” are standard on beginner models.
    • Undercarriage: the choice of material affects dexterity and rigidity.
    • Roller skate wheels: roller skates for children often have hard wheels, which can later be replaced with soft wheels for outdoor use, for example.

Very important: buy not only roller skates but also protection for children and make sure they wear it. Even more than with adult skaters, a fall has potentially serious consequences. Try to minimise those by protecting important body parts like the head, wrists and knees with the right materials. Certainly don't forget a well-fitting skate helmet.

    Maintaining roller skates for children

From the beginning, teach children to clean their roller skates correctly and regularly. These tips and tricks will ensure that their later skates also last a long time and continue to perform optimally.

    • Clean your new roller skates regularly by removing dirt and dust with a soft cloth.
    • Lubricate your wheel bearings every month with a special oil to reduce friction and keep the wheels turning smoothly.
    • Also visually inspect your wheels, replacing them if necessary to avoid irregular wear.
